Effects of Vasectomy
"Goddess,
May the Divine bless you infinitely for the noble service you are providing. If you have time and inclination, will you answer a question for me: What, if anything, does Tantric practitioners have to say about vasectomy. Since I got one myself about a year and a half ago and I've wondered about what the spiritual/Tantric effects of this would be. I am interested in your opinion. Be well"
Shanti's Response:
According to Master Mantak Chia, (Taoist Secrets of Love, Chapter 12, Most Commonly Asked Questions) most individuals who have had vasectomies consider their health good to excellent. Many reported an improvement in sexual performance. Master Chia believes that this is because sperm is no longer discharged and its energies are no longer wasted. (Taoists believe that men live longer and are more healthier when they do not ejaculate sperm but, instead, reabsorb the sperm through hold back techniques such as "The Big Draw".)
However, major side-effects of vasectomies occur when the production of vital hormones begins to gradually decrease. As secretions in vasectomized men lessen over a period of time, the volume of hormones available for reabsorption declines. Hormone production is essential in maintaining youthfulness and vitality in life. Thus vasactomized men (and all men) will benefit from learning ejaculation control. Through the practice of ejaculatory control or hold back techniques such as the Big Draw (refer to Master Chia's book), hormonal secretions are increased and transformed into purer homonal essences and higher quality energies. These fortified energies are then exchanged with the man's partner during lovemaking.
